Patriots RB James White ends up getting a Super Bowl MVP truck anyway

Tom Brady won MVP of Super Bowl 51, but there was a strong case to be made for running back James White.

After all, White broke the Super Bowl record for points scored by an individual player and also had the most receptions by any player in the big game. Even Brady said White deserved the award, and the truck reward that came with it.

According the NFL Network, Cousins is set to make $24 million in 2017 after earning nearly $20 million last year. The veteran signal caller and the Redskins have until July 15 to negotiate a long-term deal.

It was revealed earlier Tuesday that Cousins’ preferred destination would have been San Francisco if Washington opted to trade him. Now 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan, who previously coached Cousins when he served as Redskins offensive coordinator, remains stuck with quarterback Colin Kaepernick in the meantime.

Cousins, 28, showed inconsistencies last season but still proved his ability to lead Washington’s offense. He finished with 4,917 yards passing for 25 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

The 1968 NFL MVP looked far from valuable against what was considered a vastly inferior Jets team in Super Bowl 3, throwing for half as many interceptions as completions. Perhaps Morrall’s worst play was when he missed a wide-open Jimmy Orr on a flea-flicker; he targeted running back Jerry Hill and was intercepted by the Jets’ Jim Hudson. The play could have tied the game 7-7 at halftime.

Johnny Unitas ended up replacing Morrall late in the third quarter and still Cheap Jerseys AUStralia had more completions (11) and yards (110) than the starter. He also managed to throw a touchdown in the 16-7 loss.

Jay Cutler wants a perfect solution or will retire from NFL, per repor

As trade rumors circle around Jay Cutler, the soon-to-be 34-year-old quarterback reportedly is seriously thinking about retirement.

It’d be surprising to see Cutler retire early, but he might want to save himself the embarrassment of playing for a bottom-dweller the rest of his career.

Team owner Robert Kraft doesn’t care about the haters who think the team’s five Super Bowl championships have involved questionable tactics.

“Envy and jealousy are incurable diseases,” Kraft told HBO’s “Real Sports” during a segment that aired Tuesday night. “The haters still hate. And I understand it, and we’ll do our best to keep them in that position.”

Kraft said he was especially upset about how the Deflategate scandal tarnished the reputation of the team and quarterback Tom Brady.

“I go back to my Dad and he said, ‘The most important thing you can earn in life is a good name.’ That is impacting our good name or our reputation,” Kraft told HBO. “And it wasn’t something that I appreciated.

“(Brady is) just not the greatest quarterback in the history of the NFL, he’s an amazing human being. And is genuine. And as nice as everybody thinks he is, he’s nicer. And to see anyone attack Wholesale Jerseys him as an individual or his integrity. And that just wasn’t fair.”

Dan Quinn will welcome Dwight Freeney back to Falcons under one condition

If defensive end Dwight Freeney wants to play in Atlanta in 2017, he needs to decide sooner than later.

Falcons head coach Dan Quinn says he would welcome Freeney’s return for a 16th NFL season. However, Quinn is insistent that Freeney participate in the team’s offseason program rather than sign during training camp like he did for the 2016 campaign.

As for where he’d go, ESPN is reporting the Titans and Eagles as potential landing spots. The Titans had a mediocre receiving corps last season, led by Rishard Matthews with 945 yards. Rookie Tajae Sharpe was second with 522.

According to ESPN, here’s how a trade with Tennessee would work:

One scenario has the Titans simply trading their first-round pick (No. 18 overall) for Cooks, who was the Saints’ 20th pick in the first round of the 2014 draft. Another scenario, per sources, has the two teams swapping slots in the first round, involving the Titans moving from the No. 5 pick (acquired from the Rams) to the Saints’ 11th pick, with another pick or two also in play.

The Eagles had one of the worst receiving corps in the NFL last season as Jordan Matthews was the only player who showed much promise. Dorial Green-Beckham was the second-leading receiver with just 392 yards.

Cooks would be a solid addition to both teams, as they could each use an elite receiver. There’s Cheap Retro NBA Jerseys also a chance either team adds free agent Alshon Jeffery to pair with Cooks and its current group of Cheap Replica Soccer Jerseys wideouts.

Sheldon Richardson: Jets locker room is better without Brandon Marshall

Last season Sheldon Richardson and Brandon Marshall tried to act like their relationship was fine, even though it was clear it wasn’t. Richardson publicly ridiculed Marshall by telling a reporter the receiver “should be embarrassed” after the team’s blowout loss to the Patriots.

After that, the two didn’t speak to one another, but as Richardson said, “I don’t have a beef (with Marshall). Not at all.”

According to the report, the NFL Players Association recently handed over “phone records and other documents” related to the probe into the Cowboys’ star running back.

If the league does find he violated the rules, his punishment will take effect next season. He will also have the opportunity to appeal the decision.

Elliott, who turns 22 in July, is coming off a monster rookie season in which he led the league with 1,631 rushing yards and added 15 touchdowns. He missed several days of OTAs after suffering minor injuries in a car accident last month, but has since rejoined his team for workouts.

“This is going to change people’s lives,” said Umenyiora, who has overseen training Lsu Cheap Jerseys of the players over the last few months. “They have a great opportunity. They are going to be Minnesota Vikings Cheap Jerseys seen not only by their new teams but by everyone who might imagine they can be NFL players.

“They will inspire people around the globe; people who never thought they had a chance to make it to the NFL. Now they see they have a viable pathway. These guys have worked very hard for this chance and I am confident they will make a great contribution to their teams while improving their skills and understanding of the game.”
