Kentucky reserve quarterback Luke Wright said on his Twitter account that examinations “all came back good” after he collapsed on the sideline Saturday night during the Wildcats’ victory over Missouri.
Wright, a junior transfer from Cincinnati who started last fall against Austin Peay but hadn’t played this season, collapsed with about 9? minutes remaining in the game, which Kentucky won 40-34. Play was stopped for several minutes and players from both teams knelt in prayer on the field in a silent stadium as medical personnel treated the 6-foot-4 Atlanta native. Wright was applauded as he was carried off the sideline on a stretcher.
Coach Mark Stoops said afterward, “that was very scary for all of us,” but said Wright was responsive. Stoops did not elaborate on what caused the player to collapse. Wright tweeted early Sunday that he was fine and thanked everyone for their prayers following the scary moment.
Few college players on either side of the ball carry more Cheap NFL Jerseys respect than Fitzpatrick, whose impact goes far beyond his individual numbers. Whether he’s playing safety or cornerback, making plays or preventing opponents from making them, his presence is clear every time Alabama takes the field. Fitzpatrick can pressure the quarterback, shut down pass routes and excel on special teams, where he has a blocked kick this season. He remains a top candidate for national Hockey Jerseys defensive player of the year honors.
